The USPS looks like they are going ahead with their plan to cut out Saturday mail service by 2011.
As an eBay seller, we occasionally ship on Saturday, it depends on when the customer’s payment gets to us. If it’s late Friday afternoon or night that we receive the payment, we will usually ship on Saturday. If it is during the day on Saturday, chances are that it won’t go out until Monday.
Personally, I don’t see a problem with eliminating Saturday mail. Other than eBay items, we hardly use the postal service since we pay 90% of our bills online. It certainly won’t bother me if eliminating that Saturday will mean cost savings & they (maybe) won’t have to go up on postage rates every year. However; I’m not going to hold my breath on that one.
Will losing a day of mail make an impact on you? If so, how or why?
